This is for all of you who are crashing and burning with Wall Street right now. Some handmade, cute-faced goodness. Miel, who as I was knitting away these past weeks, insisted she wouldn't wear what I made, was more more than happy to oblige for a backyard modeling session.
Knitting this jumper was a huge step in my knitting "career." For the first time, I was able to follow a pattern that included sleeves and side seams and such. It's from Catherine Tough's Easy Knits for Little Kids, and believe me, if I can do it (in random playground moments and car trips), anyone can.
A funny thing . . . I stopped by the knitting store for a quick question on finishing and found out I had knit the whole pattern in size 7 needles when it was meant for size 9. Oops. Fortunately, Miel is tiny, so it worked out. I had to innovate the straps, though, so that her head would fit through the neckline. The purple ribbing you see behind the buttons is extra, but still cute, I think.

Beautiful!
