In the summer, we do everything outside. Meals, lounging, and art. What could be better for these these little ones than something that involves picking flowers and lots of hammering?
These nature prints are so fun and easy, I hope you give them a try for yourself or with the littles. I put down a cutting board, then a towel and then a sheet of linen. You can also use cotton, but I didn't have any around. Then go and pick the loveliest leaves and flowers you can find--ferns work particularly well. Cover with wax paper or parchment and secure with rocks or tape.
Hammer, hammer, hammer. That Japanese mallet seemed to work particularly well, but you could probably even use rocks in a pinch.
Peel off the paper and voila! Iron to set.
Aren't they lovely?
