Today is the anniversary of Belly's crossing the Rainbow Bridge. A year has gone by. I still miss her so much, of course, and yet she's here with me always. Life...We spiral through our years, passing the same seasons with another circle around the core.
When I look at this picture, even, I see Belly trotting alongside us, as she did so many walks with beloved mama friends and babes.
A funny thing about this picture, you might notice, is that we've transported ourselves from beach and redwoods and rivers to snow and skis. Yet, it's the same picture, isn't it? Big boys out in front, little ones closer, babes on the back. And the same sweet sentiment ...mamas and children spending days in nature, in conversation, in picnic lunches, in mediation and laughter.
And on skis!!!
Each of life's precious moments ticks on. We never know what the next day will bring (and in our case, where the next day will bring us!). Until we meet again, dear Belly . . . I love you.
PS...Ok, I typed this whole post with nary a tear, watching the closing games of the Olympics, and now along comes Neil Young singing "Long May You Run." Maybe you even shed a tear with me? (I asked him to do "Old King," you know, but we compromised on this one dedicated to Miss Belly. Thanks Neil.)

Oh how wonderful to see the littles in their winter wonderland. Caleb was remembering all the sweet things he remembered about your family and of course wants to visit you in your new home. Snuggles, rach
