As I mopped the floor last night (my birthday) at 10 pm and vacuumed and picked up toys today in an empty house, I found myself in a meditation of being of service. You know, the chop wood, carry water kind. The kind in which I'm grateful to have found myself with this family to pick up after. Don't worry, I haven't suddenly become enlightened on you...It's been more my practice mantra. My own reminders to myself.
In the trance of the rhythmic vacuum dance, I reflected on those in my life who shine their service as inspiration. Too many to name...my family, friends who shine on me and onto the world...but today one stands out.
The Life As Heart tour. E. Dan Smith, Bettsee Gotswald and friends are hitting the road in a souped up RV with a goal of teaching 1,111 their simple, transformative meditation. It's helped me....and it's not scary. You don't even have to sit still for long.
The
tour hits the road Wednesday, September 8 from "Journeys For Conscious
Living" in Arvada, CO then traveling to Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta,
Charlotte, Asheville NC, Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New
York City, Providence, Amherst MA, Boston, Nantucket, Ithaca, Cleveland
and Chicago.
