We're a certain breed--
Those who craft a checkerboard
the eve of camping.
It started on Sunday afternon. Family time. Steve suggested a game of checkers and out came...the iPod. I cringed. I've had it in my mind these past few days, and this afternoon we had a few extra hours and out came the new sewing machine. I'm especially liking the repurposing of the hand-me-down outgrown cupcake jammies...Miel didn't get to wear them nearly long enough, but now we have cupcakes to go. Pleased as punch, really, with the pj pocket as checker holder..cutting up clothing is fun! Who knew?
It was fun to use another machine and kind of know what to do when tangles and troubles arose. And know when to pin and even to know I really did need to iron those seams. (Thanks, Kate!) I don't suppose I'll ever be a master at sewing--I prefer the quick and dirty utilitarian projects--but it's nice to need a game and make it.
Ok...I'd better go pack now :)
